DON VITO (DE)
sounds like getting a beating from a ball lightning, or, as someone said: “They play like children in a sandbox, with a sound like a Minuteman landing on an aircraft carrier platform, and the musical understatement of a Chicago jazz band.”
GREAT BLACK WATERS (UK)
is the constant accumulation of songs, poems, fragments, night time escapades and morning rushes recorded by Björn Magnusson at the Mass Tape Recording Studio deep in the Swiss Alps. With reclusive Italian synth scientist Zisch De Luca, American guitarist Tatum Rush as well as visionary drummer Tobias Sommer GBW has earned a reputation for their raw, impulsive live shows, taking all these recording as some kind of raw material and turning them into bright blistering rocknroll music of floating synths, mellow guitars and heavy drumming. Recorded between 2009 and 2012, the debut album “Songs for a bath” is the first glance into the GBW Tape Archives filled with strange and nice recordings.
