18/04 | Sounds Of The Underground Festival
2014-04-18 @ 20:00 - 01:00
SOTU (Sounds of the Underground) is an annual music festival taking place in the ‘Oud West’ (old west) district of Amsterdam and the Vondelbunker is one of the venues! The festival programming includes noise, improvised music, psychedelia, indie-pop, avant-garde, black metal, ambient, experimental electronica and a wide range of underground dance music genres.
Line-up Friday 18th of April
DJ Regie Ratanas
Rege Satanas is probably best known for his radio show on Red Light Radio where he plays obscure soundtracks, metal, dark music and everything you can image to be weird and obscure. Today he will spin together the performances at de Bunker, presenting some more obscure underground music.
Semi-simulating progrock extravaganza, the trio blends a violent share of “standard” electronics, deep dense slabs of otherworldly psychedelic minimalist drift and occult dada. Locked in loops, eyes shut, spiralling.
21:30 The Dear Listeners
Robert Deters and Martin Luiten specialise in music that touches, suprises and make you think. Operating under the name ‘the dear listeners’, their musical output is an emotional and rich sound-art, based on interaction and physical presence.
23:00 Black Decades
Formed in early 2012 and consists of ex-members from Cathode, Staathaat and Kriegstanz playing intense, crude and skull-crushing filth in the form of blackened crust.
Grinding baritone sax, noisy guitars, pounding drums. Often described as ZU with a taste of ASIWYFA (And So I Watch You From Afar) ultimately MANNHEIM comes down to one thing: Loud instrumental music.
